Changes at Lubrizol

The Lubrizol Corporation has announced the promotions of Vincent Misiti to global business manager of Lubrizol’s personal care business and Robert Richardson to vice president and general manager of Active Organics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lubrizol Advanced Materials that manufacturers and supplies naturally-derived specialty ingredients, including botanical extracts and natural performance ingredients for the personal care industry. As global business manager, Misiti will be responsible for the strategic market focus of the company’s personal care business, developing and implementing growth strategies, organizational alignment and prioritizing business development initiatives. Additionally, he will work closely with the personal care commercial, technical and platform leaders to drive global growth and overall business performance. Since joining Lubrizol in 1994, Misiti has held a variety of marketing and business development leadership positions. He was instrumental in the strategy and transaction support that led to the company’s initial acquisitions in personal care and, through his latest role in corporate development, led the acquisitions of the Nalco conditioning polymers business and Active Organics. Prior to joining Lubrizol, Misiti spent 7 years with ICI Specialties, holding various roles in sales, marketing and business development. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Cleveland State University.

As vice president and general manager of Active Organics, Richardson will be responsible for leading the business strategies of the Active Organics business, as well as assisting with its day-to-day operations. He will also work to connect and leverage the new technology and product portfolio to core personal care market segments, working with the existing Lubrizol personal care team. Richardson rejoined Lubrizol as business development director for Engineered Polymers in 2010; his previous experience at Lubrizol included programme management and business development in addition to roles as technology manager, global marketing manager, regional manager for the equipment manufacturers group and regional sales manager for Lubrizol Additives. Prior to rejoining Lubrizol, Richardson was the chief operating officer for BG Products, Inc. and vice president of technology for The Wynn Oil Company. He has a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Southwestern College in Kansas and studied for a master’s degree in polymer science at the University of Akron. Rick Tolin, Lubrizol vice president and general manager, personal and home care commented: “The addition of Vince and Rob greatly enhances the leadership of the personal and home care team. Their broad experiences are a strategic fit with the business and will be instrumental in enabling us to provide our global customers with even more innovative solutions.”
