Dr Samiul Amin, strategic technology group manager at Malvern Instruments has collaborated with Dr Krassimir Velikov from Unilever R&D Vlaardingen to provide a chapter for the recently released Handbook of Nutraceuticals Vol 2: Scale-up Processing and Automation. The chapter is entitled “Rheology if Complex Fluids Containing Nutraceuticals” and Dr Amin describes himself as “very pleased to be asked to contribute” to the publication and delighted to “have access to the finished product after the many months of hard work that have gone into it.” Amin, who is a member of both the Society of Rheology and the British Society of Rheology and serves on the Royal Society of Chemistry/Society of Chemical Industry joint colloid committee, continued: The rheology of complex fluids is an area of personal interest for me — and it is one in which Malvern is heavily involved, with the Kinexus rheometer particularly suited to a wide variety of applications in the field.” Samiul Amin comes from a chemical engineering background, with postdoctoral research experience at the highly regarded University of Fribourg (Switzerland). His area of specialization is the rheology and microstructure of complex and nanostructured fluids.
